Pipedrive vs HubSpot: the €7 is for new customers only

OUR PICK

Our pick: Pipedrive — €14 per seat a month against HubSpot Starter's standing €20, and not a single introductory price anywhere on its page.

Read from both pricing pages on 2026-08-27 with each billing switch clicked. Pipedrive Lite is €14 per seat per month billed annually — the page prints it as 'One payment of €168 per seat/year' — or €24 monthly. HubSpot's Starter Customer Platform shows 'Starts at €7/mo/seat' beside €20/mo/seat, and its banner states the €7 is new-customers-only and time-limited. Compared standing-price to standing-price, Pipedrive Lite at €168 a seat per year beats HubSpot Starter at €240. Pipedrive also publishes its annual total per seat outright, so there is nothing to work out.

The other way: Pick HubSpot if two people can do the job, because its free tier is real and Pipedrive has none. HubSpot Free Tools covers marketing, sales, service, content, data and revenue for up to 2 users with no credit card, indefinitely — Pipedrive offers a 14-day trial and then charges. HubSpot is also a bundle rather than a CRM: the Starter Customer Platform includes email marketing, meeting scheduling, live chat and ticketing alongside the deal pipeline, where Pipedrive is a sales pipeline with integrations bolted around it. And if you are genuinely a new customer, €7 a seat is €7 a seat for as long as the offer holds.

How to read this page: every number below was read from the vendor’s own public pricing page on the date shown, and the pages are re-checked daily. Currencies differ because that is what each vendor showed an EU visitor. Some links on this page are affiliate links — if you subscribe through one we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Per our method, that never changes a number or a verdict. Source links always point to the vendor’s plain page.

That claim is accurate but applies to exactly one plan: Lite saves 41.7% (€168 a year against €288 paid monthly), while Growth, Premium and Ultimate save 20.4%, 25.3% and 20.2%. The page helpfully prints the annual total per seat as well as the monthly equivalent, so no arithmetic is needed. No promotional or first-year pricing appears anywhere on the page. Source: https://www.hubspot.com/pricing/crm · read 2026-08-27 (UTC) · The headline Starter price is promotional and HubSpot says so. A banner reads 'Save up to 65% on Starter' and, beneath it, 'Get special Starter pricing when you choose a monthly or annual subscription. New customers only. Select offers available for a limited time.' The plan card shows 'Starts at €7/mo/seat' beside €20/mo/seat — so €20 is the standing rate and €7 is a limited-time, new-customers-only offer, a 65% discount. There is also a genuine free tier for up to 2 users. Read in a browser on 2026-08-27.

What the record says

Both of these pages advertise a discount in large type, and only one of the two discounts is something you keep. HubSpot's banner reads 'Save up to 65% on Starter'. The sentence underneath is the important one: 'Get special Starter pricing when you choose a monthly or annual subscription. New customers only. Select offers available for a limited time.' The plan card then shows 'Starts at €7/mo/seat' next to €20/mo/seat. The 65% is arithmetically correct — €7 is 65% off €20 — but it is an acquisition offer, and €20 is the number to budget against.

Pipedrive's discount is a different kind of thing entirely. Its switch says 'Save up to 42%', and that is the ordinary annual-versus-monthly trade every vendor offers. Nothing on the page is time-limited, new-customer-only, or first-year. In a batch of pricing pages where four of the last five vendors we read were running introductory rates, Pipedrive's is the one where the number you see is the number you keep paying.

That said, its 42% deserves unpacking, because it applies to exactly one plan out of four. Lite is €14 per seat per month annually against €24 monthly — €168 a year against €288, which is 41.7% and reaches the claim. Growth is €39 against €49, or €468 against €588: 20.4%. Premium is €59 against €79: 25.3%. Ultimate is €79 against €99: 20.2%. So a buyer on Growth — the tier most small sales teams actually land on — saves about half what the banner led them to expect. 'Up to' is doing real work.

Compare the two at their standing prices and Pipedrive wins the entry tier. HubSpot Starter at €20 per seat per month is €240 a seat per year. Pipedrive Lite at €14 billed annually is €168. For a four-person sales team that is €672 against €960 — a €288 difference in year one and every year after, once HubSpot's introductory period ends. Even Pipedrive's monthly-billed Lite at €24 is only €4 above HubSpot's standing rate, while carrying no promotional expiry at all.

But the comparison is not quite like-for-like, and it is worth being straight about that. HubSpot's Starter Customer Platform is a bundle: email marketing, meeting scheduling, live chat, ticketing, a drag-and-drop editor, contact management and a deal pipeline, plus 500 HubSpot Credits and branding removal. Pipedrive Lite is a sales pipeline — lead, calendar and pipeline management, AI-powered reports, a real-time sales feed and 500+ integrations. If you would otherwise pay separately for a help desk and an email tool, HubSpot's €20 covers ground Pipedrive's €14 does not.

The free tier is the other place HubSpot has something Pipedrive simply does not offer. HubSpot Free Tools is a standing account for up to 2 users with no credit card required, covering all six of its tool families at reduced limits. Pipedrive publishes no free plan; its entry is a 14-day trial. For a two-person operation testing whether a CRM helps at all, that difference outweighs several euros a seat.

One structural note on how each page treats you. Pipedrive prints both figures for every tier — the per-seat monthly rate and the annual total, as 'One payment of €168 per seat/year' — so there is no ambiguity about what committing costs. HubSpot offers Pay Monthly and Pay Annually on Starter with annual marked BEST VALUE, but we could not read a separate annual per-seat figure in our view, so we have not quoted one. Where a page tells you plainly, we can be precise; where it does not, we would rather say so.

The short version: if you want a sales CRM and a predictable bill, Pipedrive Lite at €168 a seat per year is the cheaper and the more honest page. If you want a platform, or you have two users and no budget, HubSpot's free tier and bundle are things Pipedrive has no answer to — just do the sum at €20 rather than €7.

Beyond the price tag

Which discount survives the first invoice

HubSpot's €7/seat is new-customers-only and time-limited by its own banner; the standing rate printed beside it is €20/seat, so 'Save up to 65%' is an acquisition offer. Pipedrive carries no promotional pricing at all — its €14 is simply Lite paid annually, and it stays €14.

'Save up to 42%' applies to one plan in four

Pipedrive Lite genuinely saves 41.7% annually (€168 vs €288). Growth saves 20.4% (€468 vs €588), Premium 25.3% (€708 vs €948), Ultimate 20.2% (€948 vs €1,188). The banner is accurate and lopsided: most buyers land on Growth and save about half the headline.

A free tier, or a bundle, against a cheaper seat

HubSpot Free Tools is a standing account for up to 2 users, no card required; Pipedrive has no free plan, only a 14-day trial. HubSpot Starter bundles email marketing, live chat, ticketing and meeting scheduling with the pipeline. Pipedrive Lite is a pipeline with 500+ integrations — and €168/seat/year against HubSpot's standing €240.

Questions people actually search

Is HubSpot really €7 per seat?

For new customers, for a limited time. HubSpot's own banner says 'New customers only. Select offers available for a limited time', and the plan card prints €20/mo/seat beside the €7. Budget against €20 — that is €240 per seat per year against Pipedrive Lite's €168.

Does Pipedrive really save 42% on annual billing?

On Lite, yes — €168 a year against €288 paid monthly is 41.7%. On the other three tiers it is far less: 20.4% on Growth, 25.3% on Premium, 20.2% on Ultimate. The 'up to' is accurate but most buyers will not see anything near 42%.

Which is cheaper for a small sales team?

Pipedrive, at standing prices. Four seats on Pipedrive Lite billed annually is €672 a year; four seats on HubSpot Starter at its standing €20 is €960. The gap closes only while HubSpot's introductory €7 applies, and only for new customers.

Does either have a free plan?

HubSpot does — Free Tools, a standing account for up to 2 users with no credit card, spanning marketing, sales, service, content, data and revenue tools at reduced limits. Pipedrive publishes no free tier at all; its entry is a 14-day trial with no card required.

Are these two even the same kind of product?

Not quite, and it matters. Pipedrive Lite is a sales pipeline with reporting and 500+ integrations. HubSpot's Starter Customer Platform bundles email marketing, live chat, ticketing, meeting scheduling and a drag-and-drop editor alongside the deal pipeline. If you would buy those separately anyway, HubSpot's standing €20 covers ground Pipedrive's €14 does not.

THE VERDICT, ONE MORE TIME

Every figure above was read from each vendor's own pricing page in a browser on 2026-08-27. Pipedrive's monthly and annual states were both captured by clicking its billing switch, and its annual totals are quoted from the page's own 'One payment of €X per seat/year' lines rather than calculated. The statement that HubSpot's €7 is promotional is quoted from HubSpot's own banner: 'New customers only. Select offers available for a limited time.' HubSpot's €20/mo/seat was read as the figure printed beside the €7 and was not struck through in the markup. HubSpot offers Pay Monthly and Pay Annually on Starter but no separate annual per-seat figure was readable in our view, so none is quoted; its higher tiers are not compiled here. Pipedrive's savings percentages are arithmetic on its own two published rates. Both returned euros, and HubSpot's page carries an explicit EUR currency selector. We hold no affiliate relationship with either company and no tracking link appears on this page. The method →
