Comparison — from the record, 2026-08-27
Teachable vs Thinkific: $29 and €39 for the same first step
OUR PICK
Our pick: Teachable — cheaper at every comparable tier in its own currency, and the only one of the two whose monthly rate we could actually read.
Read from both pricing pages on 2026-08-27. Teachable publishes Starter at $29 a month billed annually ($39 monthly), Builder at $69 ($89) and Growth at $139 ($189) — both figures printed on the same card, requiring no clicks. Thinkific publishes Basic at €39, Start at €79 and Grow at €159, all marked 'Billed annually'. Tier for tier, Teachable's annual rate is the lower figure at every step. Its annual saving also varies by tier — 25.6%, 22.5% and 26.5% — and Teachable advertises no single headline percentage, which is the honest way to present a spread like that.
The other way: Pick Thinkific if the platform suits your course better; nothing in this comparison is a judgement on the product, only on what the two pricing pages disclose and charge. And treat the price gap with some caution: Teachable returned US dollars to us and Thinkific returned euros from the same connection, so $29 against €39 is directional rather than an exchange-rate calculation. If you are shopping in euros, the like-for-like Teachable figure is not the one printed above.
How to read this page: every number below was read from the vendor’s own public pricing page on the date shown, and the pages are re-checked daily. Currencies differ because that is what each vendor showed an EU visitor. Some links on this page are affiliate links — if you subscribe through one we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Per
our method, that never changes a number or a verdict. Source links always point to the vendor’s plain page.

Source: https://teachable.com/pricing · read 2026-08-27 (UTC) · Three published tiers, and unusually the page shows both billing figures on the same card — the monthly rate and the annual equivalent with 'Billed annually' beneath it — so nothing has to be clicked to compare them. Annual saves 25.6% on Starter, 22.5% on Builder and 26.5% on Growth, and the page advertises no single headline percentage, which is consistent with the savings differing by tier. | Grow | €159/mo annual | Top named tier | €159 a month billed annually. Monthly-billed rate not readable in our view. |
Source: https://www.thinkific.com/pricing/ · read 2026-08-27 (UTC) · Three published tiers, each shown with 'Billed annually' beneath the figure, plus a further plan at $199 per month. The page carries a Monthly / Annual (Save 25%) switch which we could not actuate in our reads — we reached the control and clicked its coordinates without the prices changing — so only the annual figures are published here and no monthly rate is inferred from the 25% label. What the record says
Teachable's pricing page does something most of the pages we read do not: it shows both billing figures at once. Every card carries the monthly rate and, beneath it, the annual equivalent with 'Billed annually' spelled out — $39 and $29 on Starter, $89 and $69 on Builder, $189 and $139 on Growth. There is nothing to click and nothing to work out, and a comparison drawn from that page cannot accidentally set an undiscounted price against a discounted one.
Its annual discount is also worth a moment because it is not uniform. Starter saves 25.6% — $348 a year against $468. Builder saves 22.5%, $828 against $1,068. Growth saves 26.5%, $1,668 against $2,268. A three-and-a-half point spread across the ladder is not unusual; what is unusual is that Teachable does not print a single 'save up to' figure over the top of it. Several vendors we have read this month advertise a headline percentage that only one of their tiers reaches. Teachable simply shows both numbers and lets you subtract.
Thinkific's page is built the other way. Its three tiers show one figure each — €39, €79 and €159 — with 'Billed annually' underneath, and a Monthly / Annual (Save 25%) switch above them. We could not make that switch work. We located the control, scrolled it into view and dispatched real mouse events at its coordinates, and the prices did not change through repeated attempts. So we do not know what Thinkific costs paid monthly, and we are not going to divide by 0.75 and present the result as a price.
That matters more than it might sound, because the 25% label is exactly the kind of figure this site exists to check. If it holds, Thinkific's monthly rates would be around €52, €105 and €212. If it behaves like the labels we have checked elsewhere this month — Squarespace advertising 36% while delivering 31%, Jasper advertising ~20% while delivering 14.5%, Pipedrive advertising 42% that only one tier of four reaches — it might not. We have no reading either way, and an honest blank is better than a plausible number.
On the figures we can compare, Teachable is lower at every step in its own currency: $29 against €39 at entry, $69 against €79 in the middle, $139 against €159 at the top named tier. But those are two different currencies read from the same connection, both localised by visitor, and we have not converted between them. Anyone shopping in euros should read Teachable's page in euros before treating the gap as real; the direction is reliable, the size is not.
Neither platform publishes a free tier. Both are paid from the first month, which puts them in a different category from the course tools that offer a permanent free plan with revenue sharing — if you want to test whether anyone will buy your course before committing to a subscription, neither of these two is where you start.
One loose figure on Thinkific's page we have recorded without attributing. A plan at $199 per month appears alongside the euro-denominated tiers — in dollars, on a page otherwise showing euros. Which tier it belongs to was not unambiguous in our read, so it sits in our vendor record unassigned rather than being guessed into a table.
The summary is short. On price, Teachable is cheaper at every tier we could compare. On disclosure, Teachable prints both billing states and Thinkific's switch would not move for us. Those two findings point the same way, and neither is a claim about which platform teaches better.
Beyond the price tag
Both billing figures, or one
Teachable prints the monthly rate and the annual equivalent on the same card — $39/$29, $89/$69, $189/$139 — so no click is needed and no comparison can accidentally mix the two. Thinkific shows a single 'Billed annually' figure per tier (€39, €79, €159) behind a Monthly/Annual switch that did not respond in our reads.
A discount that varies, honestly labelled
Teachable's annual saving is 25.6% on Starter, 22.5% on Builder and 26.5% on Growth — a real spread, and it advertises no single headline percentage over the top of it. Thinkific's switch is labelled 'Annual (Save 25%)'; we could not actuate it, so we have not verified that claim and publish no monthly Thinkific figure.
What we could not read, said plainly
Thinkific's monthly rates are absent from this comparison because the control would not move, not because they do not exist. Dividing €39 by 0.75 would give €52 and look authoritative; it would also be a guess. A $199-per-month plan on that page, quoted in dollars among euro tiers, is likewise recorded without attribution.
Questions people actually search
Which is cheaper, Teachable or Thinkific?
Teachable at every tier we could compare, in its own currency: $29 against €39 at entry, $69 against €79, $139 against €159. Both figures are annual-billed monthly equivalents. The caveat is that the two pages returned different currencies to the same connection, so the direction is reliable but the size of the gap is not an exchange-rate calculation.
What does Thinkific cost if I pay monthly?
We do not know, and we would rather say so. Its page carries a Monthly / Annual (Save 25%) switch that did not respond to repeated attempts in our reads. If the 25% label holds, the monthly rates would be roughly €52, €105 and €212 — but that is arithmetic on an unverified claim, not a price we read, so it does not appear in our data.
How much does Teachable's annual billing actually save?
It depends which tier you are on: 25.6% on Starter ($348 a year against $468), 22.5% on Builder ($828 against $1,068) and 26.5% on Growth ($1,668 against $2,268). Teachable prints both figures on every card and advertises no single headline percentage, which is the right call given the spread.
Does either have a free plan?
No. Neither Teachable nor Thinkific publishes a free tier on its pricing page — both are paid from the first month. If you want to test whether a course sells before paying a subscription, neither of these is the place to start.
Will you be able to tell me if these prices change?
Yes, from now on. Neither platform was in our daily price record before this article; both were added on 2026-08-27, so the figures here are the first dated point in a series rather than an established one. If Thinkific's billing switch starts responding, its monthly rates will appear in that record too.
THE VERDICT, ONE MORE TIME
Our pick: Teachable — cheaper at every comparable tier in its own currency, and the only one of the two whose monthly rate we could actually read.
Every figure above was read from each vendor's own pricing page in a browser on 2026-08-27. Teachable's monthly and annual figures are both printed on its own plan cards and were read directly; its savings percentages are arithmetic on those two published rates. Thinkific's billing switch was located, scrolled into view and clicked via real mouse events at its coordinates without the prices changing, so only its annual figures are published and no monthly rate is inferred from its 'Save 25%' label — that label is therefore unverified here rather than endorsed. A $199-per-month plan on Thinkific's page, denominated in dollars among euro-priced tiers, is recorded in our vendor data without a tier attribution. Teachable returned US dollars and Thinkific returned euros from the same connection; both localise by visitor and no conversion has been applied, so the cross-vendor gap is directional. Both vendors were added to our daily price record on 2026-08-27, so these are first readings. We hold no affiliate relationship with either company and no tracking link appears on this page.
