EngageBay vs HubSpot: one bills you in dollars wherever you live
How to read this page: every number below was read from the vendor’s own public pricing page on the date shown, and the pages are re-checked daily. Currencies differ because that is what each vendor showed an EU visitor. Some links on this page are affiliate links — if you subscribe through one we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Per our method, that never changes a number or a verdict. Source links always point to the vendor’s plain page.
The two pricing pages, side by side
These two are not quoted in the same currency. EngageBay is priced in USD and HubSpot in EUR, as each page showed it to us. Figures below are what each vendor charges, not a conversion — ranking them against each other depends on the rate your bank applies, and paying in a foreign currency usually adds a fee on top.
Prices as this vendor showed them to a visitor in the United States — USD. A reader elsewhere may be quoted a different figure — we publish what we were served, never a conversion.

Source: https://www.engagebay.com/pricing · read 2026-09-15 (UTC) · Read in a headless browser on 2026-09-15; /pricing redirects to /pricing/all-in-one. THREE billing states exist and all three are real: Monthly, Yearly (8% Off) and Biennial (15% Off). NONE is decorative — each renders a different figure, and the stated discounts are exactly honoured to the cent (14.99 × 0.92 = 13.79; 14.99 × 0.85 = 12.74; the same holds for Growth and Pro). ⚠️ THE PAGE OPENS ON BIENNIAL, the cheapest state, not on Monthly: the tab carries class 'active' on load, so the headline 'Starts at $12.74 USD' is a two-year commitment price. Every figure below is the price its own tab displayed; none is derived from another. All figures are 'per user/month' in the page's own words.

Free Tools
Free
Free for up to 2 users, no credit card required
Foundational free marketing, sales, service, content, data and revenue tools. A standing tier, not a trial, but capped at two users.
Starter Customer Platform
€20/mo
Per seat
Published as 'Starts at €7/mo/seat' against €20/mo/seat. The €7 is explicitly limited-time and new-customers-only per the page's own banner; €20 is the standing rate. Includes 500 HubSpot Credits, free tools with increased limits, branding removal from email marketing, meeting scheduling and live chat, plus drag-and-drop editor, contact management, deal pipeline and ticketing. Billing offers both Pay Monthly and Pay Annually, the latter marked BEST VALUE.
Source: https://www.hubspot.com/pricing/crm · read 2026-08-27 (UTC) · The headline Starter price is promotional and HubSpot says so. A banner reads 'Save up to 65% on Starter' and, beneath it, 'Get special Starter pricing when you choose a monthly or annual subscription. New customers only. Select offers available for a limited time.' The plan card shows 'Starts at €7/mo/seat' beside €20/mo/seat — so €20 is the standing rate and €7 is a limited-time, new-customers-only offer, a 65% discount. There is also a genuine free tier for up to 2 users. Read in a browser on the date shown above.
What the record says
What each one actually quotes. HubSpot: €0 for Free Tools, and €20 a month per seat for the Starter Customer Platform — its standing rate. EngageBay: $14.99 a month per user month-to-month, $13.79 yearly, $12.74 on two years.
The currency is the comparison. We loaded EngageBay's pricing page three times on 15 September 2026 — from a US context, a British one and a German one — and got the same dollar figures each time, labelled USD by the vendor's own tab strip. That is a single global price list. A European buying EngageBay pays dollars and carries the exchange rate; a European buying HubSpot does not.
Both headline prices are the discounted state. Neither page opens honestly. EngageBay's loads on Biennial, so its advertised entry price is a two-year commitment. HubSpot's Starter headline is a limited-time, new-customers-only offer against a standing €20 — its own banner says so. Read both with the switches moved.
Where EngageBay is ahead. Its free tier carries the CRM, the helpdesk and live chat at $0, and its paid tiers are one suite rather than hubs bought separately. HubSpot's free tier is real but capped at two users.
Beyond the price tag
Currency
EngageBay: USD worldwide, verified from three locales on 15 September 2026. HubSpot: quotes Europeans in euros.
The opening state
EngageBay's page loads on Biennial, its cheapest of three. HubSpot's Starter headline is a limited-time new-customer offer against its standing rate.
Free tiers
Both have one. EngageBay's is $0 with 250 contacts and the whole suite; HubSpot's is capped at two users.
Questions people actually search
Which is cheaper, EngageBay or HubSpot?
We will not answer that with a converted figure. HubSpot quotes €20 a month per seat; EngageBay quotes $14.99 a month per user, in dollars, wherever you are. Those are different currencies and a conversion would be our arithmetic, not either vendor's price.
Will EngageBay charge me in euros if I am in Europe?
Not on the evidence of its own pricing page, which served us dollars from a German context on 15 September 2026.
Does the commission change this?
No. The currency argument favours HubSpot and it is the first thing this page says.
THE VERDICT, ONE MORE TIME
Our pick depends on where you are. In Europe, HubSpot quotes in your currency and has a real free tier; EngageBay will bill you in dollars and hand you the exchange rate. EngageBay's case is the suite: helpdesk, live chat and CRM in the free tier rather than marketing alone. We earn a commission on EngageBay clicks and it has not bent this: the currency point favours HubSpot and the article says so.
Read on 15 September 2026. EngageBay serves one price list in US dollars worldwide — verified by loading its pricing page from US, British and German contexts and getting identical figures each time, labelled USD by the vendor's own tab strip. HubSpot quotes Europeans in euros: €0 for Free Tools and €20 a month per seat for the Starter platform, its standing rate. We have not converted either figure into the other's currency, because a converted number is our arithmetic and not either vendor's price. Both headline prices are the discounted state: EngageBay's page opens on Biennial, and HubSpot's Starter headline is a limited-time new-customers-only offer by its own banner.
EngageBay's figures were read on 15 September 2026 from US, British and German contexts, with all three billing toggles walked. HubSpot's are this record's own dated reads of its pricing page. We did not convert either vendor's figures into the other's currency; where the two cannot be compared, this page says so rather than inventing a number. We earn a commission on EngageBay clicks, and the verdict above still favours HubSpot on the point that matters most to a European buyer. The method →
