Kit vs MailPoet
Both ladders below were read from the vendors’ own pricing pages, in this market, on the dates shown. Nothing is converted: what you see is what each page showed a reader here.
What each one is
Kitsite ↗pricing ↗
An email platform built for creators — writers, course sellers, podcasters — organised around subscriber tagging and selling rather than around campaigns. Paid plans start at $39/mo (Creator); a free plan exists. The ladder we hold runs 2 paid tiers, topping out at $66/mo (Pro). We read the same $39/mo in every market we check, so this vendor does not price by country. Kit gives away up to 10,000 subscribers, so people looking past it are almost always after a feature rather than a price.
MailPoetsite ↗pricing ↗
An email plugin that sends newsletters from inside WordPress, using your existing site as the subscriber list. Paid plans start at $10/mo (Business); no free plan is published. The ladder we hold runs 2 paid tiers, topping out at $30/mo (Agency). It bills by country — entry €10/mo to a UK reader and €10/mo in the eurozone, from our same-day reads.

Where they differ
- Cheapest way in: MailPoet at $10/mo, against Kit at $39/mo. That is the entry price in this market on the dates shown, not a judgement about which suits you.
- Free plans: only Kit publishes one — a plan priced at zero, not a trial.
- How far each ladder goes: Kit tops out at $66/mo, MailPoet at $30/mo. A deeper ladder is not a worse deal — it is a bill that keeps climbing if you keep growing.
- Kit: We read the same $39/mo in every market we check, so this vendor does not price by country.
- MailPoet: It bills by country — entry €10/mo to a UK reader and €10/mo in the eurozone, from our same-day reads.
How to choose in this category
- Most tools price by list size — a quoted price is only true at a stated subscriber count, so re-check the ladder at yours.
- Free tiers differ in what they cap: subscribers, sends or features. Two ‘free plans’ are rarely the same thing.
- Headline prices are often the annual-billing rate; the pay-monthly figure sits higher.
